In 2025 we started delivering our Street Works (NRSWA) courses. 

Under the New Roads and Street Works Act (1991) (NRSWA), the installation, renewal, maintenance and inspection of underground apparatus in any street or road must be undertaken by competent people. The Street Works scheme provides the mechanism for recognising competence in excavation and reinstatement in the highway.

With green shoots in our industry, it is estimated that around 50,000 extra workers will be needed each year from 2024 - 2028 to meet this demand. 

It is crucial that here at Construction Training Services we play our part in training, developing and upskilling talent to support an industry that is a key driver to the UK economy.

Our Street Works course offering is testament to our commitment to support our exisiting customers needs and enable us to open up conversations with new clients and candidates. 

Our Street Works courses will be held at our training centre at Pipps Park Needham Market and will cover the following:-

001 Location and avoidance of underground apparatus 
002 Signing, lighting and guarding 
003 Excavation 
004 Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials 
005 Reinstatement of sub-base and base in non-bituminous materials 
006 Reinstatement of cold-lay bituminous materials 
007 Reinstatement of hot-lay bituminous materials 
008 Reinstatement of concrete slabs
